Aarhus 2017 and the Central Denmark Region present THE BIG LITTLE FILM FESTIVAL, a weekend of films from talented international and local filmmakers showcasing storytelling, documentary, animation, commercial communication and experimentation. The festival is a rolling programme of short formats telling some of the unique stories of place, examine Danish DNA in satirical fashion, demonstrate aesthetics of difference and methodologies of approach.

The Keeper of Small Things
In a world of limited shelf lives and diminishing attention spans, while others are watching the mammoths, Tove is collecting the mice.
Fuur
In the north of Jutland, Denmark, in the middle of the Limfjord lies a small island - Fuur. Grave mounds from the Bronze and Viking ages interrupt otherwise untouched landscapes, and fossil rich cliffs leave traces of life some 55 million years old.

At Super8000, you have the opportunity of experiencing 59 short films by young, innovative talents from 20 different countries. There will be panel debates, focusing on the status quo of talent development in Denmark and the rest of Europe.
Separate Silences
During THE BIG LITTLE FILM FESTIVAL at O’space you have the opportunity to try the VR experience "Separate Silences" (Hver Sin Stilhed) on your own body. "Separate Silences" was awarded best VR Storytelling & Experience at this years CopenX in Copenhagen.
Meet the makers: Dissidenterne
Join the debate with one of Denmark's most popular film directors, Jeppe Rønde and Dijana Pavlovic, who speak about the Roma issue. Jeppe Rønde is, among other things the director of Momondo's viral success, The DNA Journey (viewed more than 200 million times).
The Dissidents
Short films, from various European Union countries, offer portraits of those prepared to be at odds with the policies and directives of their governments. Each Dissident is viewed through the lens of a film director from their own place.

Meet the makers: New Voices of Gellerup
Gellerup Film Workshop is located in the heart of Gellerup, and offers support for young people in Gellerup and Bispehaven. The workshop allows young people between 18-35 years to develop manuscripts borrow film equipment and gain professional and practical experience in filmmaking. There will be a showcase of films produced at the workshop.
Meet the makers: Original
The director, Stig Guldberg, who has followed the three and the ups and downs of their friendship since 2010, talks about the movie and its creation, introduces select snippets, and lays the foundation for a dialogue and debate with the audience about the questions that the movie poses.
Meet The Maker: Berit Madsen “The Keeper of Small Things”
This event will give audience an opportunity to go behind the camera on “The Keeper of Small Things”. The documentary director Berit Madsen will talk about, how it has been working with an Australian director and viewing a piece of Danish culture through her “foreign eyes”.
