During our year of culture we ask what are the pressing issues for all people and what kind of world we are creating for future humanity.
We use philosophy, ethics and critical thinking to ponder ideas that challenge the status quo.
We provoke ourselves to also rethink religion and what it can mean to a contemporary society currently in turmoil and seeking ways to combine faith with humanity.
Our year of culture coincides with another important anniversary, that of the Lutheran Reformation which in 2017 will reflect upon 500 years of thesis. The Lutheran variation of Protestantism is now followed in numerous European countries and around the globe.
In contemporary times members of the Lutheran faith strive to reflect their belief in the pursuit of good and useful things and to actively contribute to debates around climate change, migration of peoples, equality of the sexes and other pressing issues of our time.
