MY ICARUS COMPLEX

Part of Little Rebellions
Presented by Troels Primdahl

Expect more than a just a dance piece. This event is new step into the field of site-specific performance art. The audience will arrive at sunset at an old flight hanger located in the middle of a former military airbase on Djursland Peninsula. Award-winning director and choreographer Troels Primdahl has chosen this location for his thought provoking, yet poetic, interpretation of Icarus’ rise and fall. An international ensemble of dancers will carry us through the many psychological layers of the story and leave us to the night with a resounding reflection: should Icarus have listened to his father’s warnings and stayed in a safe distance to the Sun? Maybe there’s a hidden lesson behind this ancient myth... What if Icarus was perfectly aware of the outrageousness of the choice behind his final action? What if the ecstatic bliss of the ascension was all worth the fall?

This piece is also featuring the Danish electronic musician Esben Valløe with his new techno crew M€RCY and the acclaimed poet Caspar Eric.
