School Olympics

EXCLUSIVE TO AARHUS

The School Olympics is Denmark’s official Olympic activity for children and in 2017, the finals will be held in Aarhus. Each day, 2,000 school children from all parts of Denmark will participate in the fun and exciting activities at Ceres Park & Arena.

The School Olympics is all about children, targeting the age groups in the 4th-7th grades. So far, the School Olympics has only comprised athletics disciplines, but from 2017 the programme will be expanded to embrace other sports as well.

In the time leading up to the finals, the School Olympics will be part of the Physical Education and Sports curriculum in schools. In Aarhus, the Municipality will cooperate with local sports clubs to offer instruction for children and theme days for teachers.

The School Olympics celebrates Olympic values, including friendship, cooperation and fair play. It is a team competition, where every child in the class is involved.
