Presented by Aarhus Theatre in cooperation with Kristján Ingimarsson Company
Acrobatic-comical and drenched in sweat – a performance by Kristján Ingimarsson
Imagine yourself at a crowded gallery opening. People kissing cheeks, small-talking, bullshitting. Some clearly higher in the hierarchy than others, but you can´t obviously tell why that is. You wonder: what is going on? Is THIS normal behaviour?
Welcome to the surreal world of the pricewinning icelandic performer Kristján Ingimarsson.
In MORPH Ingimarsson points his looking glass at human behavior to examine the human animal. With actors, performers and acrobats onstage he twists and transforms our everyday actions, rips them from their “normal” context and explores their traits. The scenes morph and interweave and left at the center of it all is the naked and vulnerable human.
Morph is a performance speaking to the heart, stomach and the abdomen rather than the brain! – Kristján Ingimarsson
The performance is the second contribution from Aarhus Teater to European Capital of Culture 2017
