Larus

LARUS is a multi-music collective; a management, booking & event bureau which also functions as a production studio. The collective consists of DJs, event-makers, graphic designers, producers and musicians. We represent underground musicians from Aarhus, and our vision is to spread the music we love to a more diverse audience.

At this event, LARUS presents 4 live acts and 2 DJs from Aarhus’ underground and the ”Godsbane” community. 

The event is a part of the celebratory conclusion of the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017.

LINE-UP:

Nayoubi
Nayoubi is electronic RnB emphasizing bas, beat and soul. The band is a partnership between the childhood friends, Tobias Sebastian Hillgaard, who immerses the unpredictability of the beat, and Naja Johanne Brandt, who works inside a personal text universe; with melodies inspired from old school RnB and hip hop. Along they have Justo Gambula on bas and synth.

Amun Ro Ma’at
Amun Ro Ma’at delivers Old School rap directly from the heart and expresses his honest opinion. There is no hiding from his African roots when he fires away with flows about the serious issues of society.

SwerVainMiYaGi  & friends
SwerVainMiYaGi (HEATh SwerVain & Ace MiYaGi) is a nuschool sound from two experienced underground rappers. The universe is complemented by lively and sexy beats produced by Wayne Gaines, Maad Zen, Geronimo and more. The guys manage to channel their alter egos to life with a naughty and charming approach when they communicate the secrets and absurdities of nightlife. It is boastful, provoking and appealing with a hint of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).

DANQ
The group DANQ consists of the two Aarhus-rappers JERiMYTRoY and Blacc Jone$. The project is a mixture of the darkest and brightest sides of us, which together create a new energy that you cannot miss. The lyrics are mostly socio-critical, and the message is to do exactly what you want to do. The genre travels between heavy Trap/experimental hip-hop and old school hip-hop.

BROR
BROR is a producer and DJ from Aarhus who is inspired by many different genres. He plays and is inspired by genres such as boom bap, golden age, west coast, disco, funk, g-funk lo-fi and electronic music, which you can hear in his productions. He will take you on a trip through hip hop history and play tunes you can dance along to!

MidasTouch
MidasTouch is a DJ/producer from Aarhus with a heart for hiphop/boom bap and the sample-based sound of the 90s. He also has a love for the 70-80s funk/soul/disco. He is part of the music and event crew LARUS and is currently working on a beat tape, which will be released through the music collective FreaQ When Sees Records in the near future.
