An Aarhus 2017 Festival Event
Presented by the European Film College and Profile Pictures
European Film College Star Alumni is a milestone film festival presenting a number of significant films created by the celebrated alumni of the college. It runs from the 19th to 25th of June 2017 and will - besides the European Film College’s own cinema Store Bjørn – take place at a number of Ebeltoft venues as well as the famous arthouse cinema Øst for Paradis and Biocity Aarhus.
European Film College Star Alumni will present a broad pallet of films created by the college’s former students; fiction film as well as documentaries in many different genres and all of recent date. New films from acclaimed directors such as Joachim Trier, Nikolaj Arcel and Christina Rosendahl will among others be featured in the programme. The focus will not solely be on directors though. The distinguished work of cinematographers such as Sturla Brandth Grøvlen, Magnus Nordenhof Jønck and Charlotte Bruus, as well as of producer Jacob Jarek and actor Pilou Asbæk will also be featured – along with many others. A long line of the featured alumni will participate in Q & A sessions in Ebeltoft as well as in Aarhus. Some selected films will be premiered to a specially invited audience.
In 2017, The European Film College celebrates its 25th anniversary. The past 25 years, the college has been the incubator and instigator of some of the world’s most significant film producing and acting talents. It has provided talent development throughout the film industry in Denmark as well as in the rest of the world through the unique concept of mixing an international film school with Danish folk high school tradition.
The festival is produced in cooperation with Profile Pictures - a young and dynamic production company established by producers who are also alumni of the European Film College.
