Presented by the House of Children’s Culture
The House of Children’s Culture in Aarhus is launching a programme dedicated to creativity, citizenship, and democratic learning processes. The programme is called The Exploratorium of Architecture and consists of a travelling construction workshop, a combination of activities and display shows.
The aim is to convey architecture and the urban environment to children and adults. Architect Maria Andersen, amongst others, will be teaching children and young people how to use portable tools and work with various materials and construction techniques.
During 2017, The Exploratorium of Architecture will visit Skive, Herning, Horsens, Aarhus, Skanderborg and Silkeborg. Professionals and students from schools of craftsmanship will conduct various activities. The aim is to produce small building structures to be displayed during the Construction Festival of the Experimentarium of Architecture at Godsbanen (‘Den Grønne Kile’) in Aarhus during August 2017.
Children from kindergartens, pupils in both primary and secondary schools, as well as families with children and other people with an interest in architecture and construction may, free of charge, take part in the activities.
