The Susanne Bier films will be transformed into a dance performance and set up on stage at Musikhusset. Last week, Musikhuset revealed that the Swedish choreographer and the Black Box Dance Company will be in charge of rethinking one of the Bier award-winning film Open Hearts and the singer and songwriter Pernille Rosendahl will make the music.
Marie Brolin-Tani chose Pernille Rosendahl to create the music for the performance that will premiere in Musikhuset in 2017, in relation to Aarhus European Capital of Culture.
"It will be very exciting. I saw Marie and her talented dancers at the Royal Award Ceremony and I was blown away, I was totally captivated by their performances. I am really looking forward to working with them and create a musical presence in the show. I am also immensely honoured that we are allowed to build on Susanne Bier's heartbreaking love history," explained Rosendahl.
The Bier trilogy
Open Hearts is a part of the Bier trilogy and in 2017 three of Susanne Bier's award-winning films will leave the screen and go on stage.
Peter Langdal and Betty Nansen will turn one of her Oscar-nominated films, After the Wedding, into a musical. Together with Den Jyske Opera, Kasper Holten will rethink the films Brothers and Open Hearts and transform them into an opera with Marie Brolin-Tani and Black Box Dance Company.
