After just three short weeks with a deadline for applications and a week of deliberations, the regional music project ROCK THE REGION is ready with a strong field to open the season. Four bands and a soloist, which cover genres from R & B to country- punk, spanning the region from Holstebro to Aarhus, is now ready to face the audience and the music industry. Rock the Region is one of Aarhus 2017's OFF TRACK projects.
The word ROCK is first in the project title, but all rhythmic genres were accepted. Therefore, the project offers a varied program, when the tour moves around the region and ends at SPOT Festival in late April.
ROCK THE REGION 2016 presents:
nord. - Atmosphere Strong indie ensemble from Holstebro
Gwænno - Scandinavian toned RnB from Horsens
Double Time - Raw and intense rock'n'roll from Skive
Fabl - Dynamic electro- trio from Aarhus
I Said I Love - Authentic country- punk from Herning
Rock The Region wants to strengthen the cooperation between musical communities in the region for the benefit of musicians and bands.
One of the strengths of Rock the Region is that the project is anchored locally in five cities in the region and in the professional music network around Promus and SPOT Festival in Aarhus. For the artists, it means that they meet the established music industry and new audiences throughout the region.
