The team behind the magnificent Viking saga, Røde Orm, was presented at a press conference this Wednesday. With Andreas Jebro in the starring role as Røde Orm and Ole Thestrup as Harald Blåtand, we can look forward to one of the biggest theatrical events in Northern Europe in 2017.
In a unique collaboration involving The Royal Danish Theatre, Moesgaard Museum and European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017, the roof and area around Moesgaard Museum will be transformed into a gigantic scene for a true Viking saga of courage, love and royal power. Every night, 3,500 audiences can enjoy the intense drama, the violent battles and the wild costumes that create associations to great contemporary, cinematic dramas like The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.
“I can’t wait. It’s an amazing story. A tale of life and death with a lot of humor.” Said the lead, Andreas Jebro, when the team was presented at the press conference. According to Director Frede Gulbrandsen, the story of Røde Orm is a tale of pursuing one’s own happiness; and to find it, despite all the resistance it may include. A story of letting go of all the thoughts and ideals you have, and to seize happiness where it exists – right in front of you!
Røde Orm will be one of the biggest outdoor performances for the entire family in 2017.
