Struer brands itself as The City of Sound. So obviously, sound was the center of the programme when Aarhus 2017 paid them a visit.
Thursday, Managing Director Rebecca Matthews, Interim Programme Director Ole Wolf, Regional Manager Lene Øster and Head of Press Peter Vestergaard paid a visit to the Municipality of Struer.
They were presented with the many auditive initiatives in the harbour city in Western Jutland; a city probably most known for housing the B&O concern.
Struer contributes with numerous projects on sound as part of the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017, and the programme of the day contained presentations of those as well as a tour on the B&O Museum.
City Manager Claus Damgaard, CEO Erik Østerby, Director of Tourism and Trade Kim Høfler and Project Manager Carsten Ege Møller presented the city's contributions to European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017.
Among other things, these are a Festival of Sound of international format; a sound experimentarium at The Museum of Struer; sound communications of special places; experiences around the municipality as well as a sound playing field.
