As part of the children’s opening of the European Capital of Culture on January 20th, Alberte Winding has created a children’s song. The song will be performed for the first time at a special release concert on Sunday, 6. November at Lemvig Gymnasium.
The song is part of a preparation for the children’s opening in 2017, when Aarhus will be the first European Capital of Culture ever to host a children’s opening. Children are at the forefront throughout 2017 and Alberte’s contribution plays a big part. Children in the region will practice the song and a dance created for it by Dancehallerne (The Dance Halls).
Thousands of children in all 19 municipalities will burst into song and dance the 20th of January with the theme Land of Wishes, which will play a major part throughout the year in all municipalities.
The dance will also feature as “the Dance of the Year,” in a 3-year project called “Ta fat om Dansen”.
All municipalities will create their own Land of Wishes throughout the year expressing children's desires, dreams and hopes. Lemvig Music School is working with students on their fourth year to create their Land of Wishes, with a special focus on how their Land of Wishes sounds.
All children are welcomed to the concert in Lemvig, the song has as well been sent out to all primary schools in the region and children have already begun practising in song and dance.
