In the future, German-speaking will be able to follow the preparations for European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 in their native language. A German version of the ECOC website has just been launched.
“Willkommen bei Aarhus 2017 und unserem Jahr als Kulturhauptstadt Europas.” These words will now meet German-speaking guests, who visit European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017’s website to learn more about the ambitious cultural project.
And it is no coincidence that a German version of the Aarhus 2017 website is launched now. When Aarhus and Central Denmark Region in 2017 will be European Capital of Culture, this opens for new major opportunities for growth in tourism.
In the fall of 2015, VisitAarhus and the Aarhus 2017 Foundation signed a strategic partnership, which states that VisitAarhus in cooperation with VisitDenmark is responsible for increased efforts in the international marketing of Aarhus and Central Denmark Region as a destination for cultural and city tourism.
CEO of Aarhus 2017 Rebecca Matthews is extremely happy that you can now learn more about the Capital of Culture in German:
"Culture is a magnet for tourists from around the world, and our European Capital of Culture in 2017 is a very strong selling point, when we present Aarhus and Central Denmark Region abroad. In 2017, we expect a large number of visits from tourists from German-speaking countries, and so it is perfect timing that we can now launch a German version of our website to complement our Danish and English versions," says Rebecca Matthews.
From March 9 to 13, CEO Rebecca Matthews along with representatives from VisitAarhus and VisitDenmark will participate in the major international travel fair ITB in Berlin. Here, they have planned both an exhibition stand and a "Cultural Lounge", where you can stop by to learn more about Aarhus, the region and the more than 350 cultural events, you can experience in the Capital of Culture year in 2017.
