The Serpent King - Non-Space

This unique concert installation is creating a sound experience in the exhibition ‘The Serpent King’ of Katarina Henriksson at Non-Space. The three musicians are placed in the exhibition as if they were a part of it, and by morphing a musical landscape they will bring you deeper and deeper into the universe of ‘The Serpent King’. A universe where magic and reality exist side by side in your mind as well as in the music.

Katarina Henriksson is a Stockholm and London based artist whose practice spans from painting to spacial installations. The Serpent King is a theatrical installation about the transformative power of magical thinking. During her stay at Non-Space she will transform Teatersalen into an Arcadian landscape and tell the visual story of the Serpent King in the tradition of the Metamorphoses by Ovid. Remember, things are not always what they appear to be ...

The concert is a collaboration between Non-Space, Aarhus2017 and Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere (AUT).

Participants:
Christian Windfeld - percussion and effects
Timothée Quost - trumpet and effects
Frederik Sakham - Double bass and effects

'The Serpent King' is part of the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 finale.
