View opening hours
In their evocative and soulful works, Peter Linde Busk, Steinar Haga Kristensen and Alexander Tovborg each focus on the basic conditions of human existence. The exhibition updates past iconographic approaches and moral tales in a reinterpretation of the concept of Greed, which also emphasizes the interplay between art, the public sphere and political-religious ideology.
The exhibition also initiates public debate and asks: how may we define the current interest in the concept of Greed? Is it still considered a seriously amoral principle, which – in the name of profit maximization – obliterates social cohesion? Or is it a virtue that greases the wheels of society? Is Greed a psychological disposition that tells us about the complexities of a person’s emotional life? And have the religious or spiritual dimensions of Greed disappeared as a basis of evaluation?
