In 2017 we shine a light on the whole of our Region from the East coast at Grenaa to the West coast at Hvide Sande, from the North at Nederby to the South at Stouby, and all the places in between.

Aarhus 2017 tempts you to discover the diversity of our wonderful landscapes, the regional varieties of our cooking, the story telling of our villages and the history of our townships.

The Mid-Jutland Region, comprising 19 different municipalities, is renowned for its agricultural plenitude, forests, wild-life and ancestral places. In our year of culture we want to share it with you all.

The Central Denmark Region and every municipality in the region have taken part in the preparations of the bid process. The Regional Council and all city councils have agreed to participate in the Aarhus 2017 project, and all have allocated funds for the projects.
